Santiago Nuñez
Santiago is a highly experienced Software Engineering Manager with over 20 years of experience in the field. He has held a variety of leadership roles, including CIO, CTO, Project Manager, Team Leader, and Senior Developer, and has worked with top-tier companies such as Fadesa S.A., one of the main real estate companies in Spain, SoloStocks, one of the most important B2B marketplaces in Spain, and Grupo Godó, the owner of Spain’s leading newspapers, such as La Vanguardia, Mundo Deportivo, and RAC1.
Santiago is passionate about creating a positive work environment that fosters collaboration, creativity, and innovation. He believes that a strong culture is key to achieving exceptional results and is committed to helping his team members develop their full potential. His approach to leadership is based on the belief that “Leading is not about winning or losing; it is about helping your team members become the best version of themselves.”
In his personal life, Santiago enjoys playing chess, reading technical papers, learning and traveling.

Oriol Salom
Oriol Salom joined ZINIO in 2015 and has held different product roles since then, contributing to the creation of the Zinio Pro platform including new generation white label applications. With wide international experience in the Mobile, Web, Consumer Electronics, Media and Telecom industries, Oriol has a deep knowledge of Product Management, Product Marketing and Consulting. He has played leading roles with responsibilities over P&L and strategy at companies like Sony, Telecom Italia and Fira de Barcelona. He has an extensive dual technology and business education background with a Masters’ Degree in Telecommunications Engineering from UPC, a Masters’ of Science Degree in Marketing by SDA from Bocconi, Business Administration at IESE and Internet Business at ISDI. He speaks English, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Catalan and loves hiking and backcountry skiing in the mountains, travelling and playing chess.

Kent Roache
Kent is responsible for leading the development and management of ZINIO’s strategic partnerships. With over twenty years’ experience in the technology and media industry, he is focused on generating incremental revenue and distribution for our publishers and their content. Prior to ZINIO, he held business development and product, partner, and program management roles in various multi-national corporations, including Vodafone, COLT Telecommunications and Cable & Wireless. Kent holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. When he gets the opportunity, Kent loves to go mountain biking, kiteboarding, and exploring whichever country he and his family currently call home.

Miguel Sanz
Miguel Sanz joined ZINIO in 2019 as Data & BI Director. Miguel has a long career helping companies identify, manage and exploit their data assets. He has held leading roles in data initiatives at some of the biggest companies in the world – Novartis, Volvo, Sony, Etam among others – in a wide range of sectors and has lived and worked in seven different countries across Europe. Miguel has also advised public organizations like the Barcelona City Council and Bizkaia’s regional tax service in several data initiatives. He also founded two companies in the past. He is a telecommunications engineer and holds an Executive Master in Digital Business Management from ESADE. On a personal level, Miguel loves sailing, reading nonfiction and learning.

David Sheppard
David SheppardDirector of Client Development
David Sheppard joined ZINIO in 2008 starting at its London office before moving to its Barcelona headquarters in 2010. Since 2013 he has led the International Sales, Customer Success and Delivery Teams tasked with establishing new client relationships, growing existing relationships as well as executing the launch of white label products and services. In 2004-2005 he worked for the British Council in France and between 2005-2008 he participated in the JET Programme, operated by The Council of Local Authorities for International Relations, a Japanese Government initiative that brings graduates to Japan to work within the public school system. He is a graduate of the University of York and also holds an Academic Certificate in Business Studies from UCLA.

Jean Zamora
Jean Zamora joined ZINIO in New York City in 2016 as a Client Development lead for North America. In her role, she partners with key publishers and is responsible for account growth strategies, acquisition and overall customer success. Jean is known to provide exceptional quality, dedication and white glove service. Jean’s extensive career in Client Relations and her background in Publishing come from a prior Executive Customer Service Account Manager role at Innodata where she was responsible for managing major eBook Publishers and a key contributor to business development and client retention. In her spare time, Jean enjoys traveling, photography and boxing.
Director of Human Resources
Kerstin Plenkers
Kerstin Plenkers joined ZINIO in 2016 as lead for Human Resources, setting up the strategic HR agenda and strategy and subsequently implementing and fine-tuning it. She is truly passionate about people and talent development and manages to put those forward while maintaining the essential balance with business and technology needs, too. Originally from Germany, she has lived, studied and worked in her home country as well as in France, the US and now Spain since 2006. This, together with speaking four languages fluently – English, Spanish, French and German, her native language, allow her to approach every endeavour with a unique global mind-set, furthered by her Executive and Life Coach practice – Kerstin is a Coach certified by the International Coaching Federation. Her knowledge and experience cover Consulting, Financial Services and Public Services and extend to the travel and the media industry in European markets as well as in US and Asia. She holds a double degree in Business Management and English language and literature from Mannheim University, including a one-year abroad-scholarship at the University of Connecticut.

Sandra McNicol
Sandra McNicol joined ZINIO in 2014 as Customer Services Director. She is passionate about Customer Support and has over 20 years of international experience in designing, implementing and process improving Customer Service centres within the UK, Poland, The Netherlands and Spain and working in Consultancy (PwC), IT (Compaq), Banking (ABN Amro Bank) and Tourism (GowithOh) sectors. She strongly believes in the service profit chain and that proud employees are key to “delighting” customers and keeping them loyal to a brand. Sandra is Scottish but has lived in Spain for more than 10 years. She enjoys exercising outdoors, she has done a marathon in Amsterdam, completed the Inca trail in Peru and a Triathlon in Barcelona. She is also an adventurous traveller and enjoyed diving in Egypt, hang-gliding in Brazil, Hot Airballooning in Turkey, with her most “unique” experience (so far) being a 10 day trip to Antartica.

Ana María Suárez
Ana María Suárez joined ZINIO in 2008 and began her current role as Director of Production in 2017. As a proactive and resourceful professional with over ten years of experience in the Digital Publishing and Content Distribution industry, Ana has extensive experience leading and coordinating Production Teams and managing and implementing successful projects for top magazine publishers as well as major publishing distribution platforms. Ana was born in Colombia, holds a graduate degree in Multimedia Arts from Universidad de los Andes, Colombia, has a DEA degree in Design, Image and Technology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a post-graduate degree in Digital Photography from TAI, Madrid.
