Arthur is Chairman & CEO of Zinio. Previously, he was the CEO of NaviSite, a NASDAQ quoted company that provided technology and application management services to customers in the US and UK from 2002-2010. With offices in the US, UK and India, NaviSite provided data center hosting and cloud-based application management to enterprises. Arthur was a senior advisor to the Vera Wang fashion company for 7 years and has been a private investor in technology and real estate since NaviSite was sold to Time Warner in 2011.

Vince's long career in Media and Publishing has given him extensive knowledge of the publishing industry including finance, accounting, corporate strategy, business development, production, circulation, and operations. Vince served as the CFO of Alpha Media Group, publisher of Maxim until its sale in February 2014. As a member of the executive management team that oversaw the sale of the company, he was also responsible for Finance and Circulation functions. He was previously General Manager and Chief Financial Officer at Northern & Shell NA where he helped launch OK! Magazine in the US market in 2005, which quickly became the fastest growing weekly celebrity magazine in the US. From 1991 to 2002, he was CFO/COO of TV Guide Magazine (the largest weekly circulation magazine during this time) along with its Magazine Distribution Group and managed finance, treasury, circulation, and HR functions.

Until July 2012 Joan was President of Zinio International, developing the Zinio business outside of North America. He joined the company in 2009 after leading a joint venture with Havas to develop Zinio in Europe and Latin America. Previously he was CEO of Acceso Group, a media intelligence and CMS group in Spain that developed a partnership with Zinio in 2004 to expand the business in the UK and Spain. From 1984 through October 2000 he was CEO of Weber-Shandwick Spain. Joan was born in Barcelona, has a degree in Law from the UAB, a Marketing PD from ESADE, an EDP from Wharton and lives with his wife and their four daughters in Barcelona.

Social Media Manager New York, NY
Zinio, the leader in delivering the worlds most popular magazines to digital platforms on the web, on tablets and smartphones, is seeking a talented content creator, curator and social marketer to manage the companys engagement with customers through social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as on the companys App Store, Website and Email newsletter platforms. Leveraging the content from thousands of magazines, the successful candidate will identify creative opportunities to broaden the engagement with Zinios customers and add new customers through innovative use of all of the social media channels.

In this role, the Social Media Manager will be responsible for owning the ideation, development, execution, and analysis of Social Media efforts.

His/Her primary focus is to connect and create campaigns on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social outlets to connect current, past and prospective Zinio customers with compelling stories and content from our magazines with the goal to build traffic and engagement on Zinio.com and on our mobile apps.

This role will also have the opportunity to help build Zinios Paid Social strategy, with a test and learn approach, with the goal to leverage the social ecosystem to help drive Zinios growth targets.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Executive Management to create a social media strategy that represents best practices in social media marketing.
  • Create viral and social content and experiences, creating and amplifying conversations and outreach that compliment editorial, marketing and custom programs.
  • Execution of all social media activities including, tweeting, sharing, engaging, liking, and increasing social reach.
  • Creation of content for use on the companys own properties to highlight articles or content that would induce current or prospective customers to engage and ultimately purchase.
  • Monitor, listen and respond to the audience in a Social way while cultivating new customers to experience the brand.
  • Lead and manage advocacy for the brand in social media conversations and seize opportunities in real time to engage in online conversations where the brand is relevant.
  • Monitor online ratings and create early warning indicators to flag issues that need addressing.
  • Establish relationships with bloggers and other members of the online community.
  • Craft and implement creative social media campaigns across social media channels
  • Optimize social media channels to increase follower base, community engagement and traffic to website.
  • Create and manage social media scorecard, benchmarking progress, accomplishments and results from social media marketing efforts.
  • Support Paid Social efforts that will look to increase Zinios customer base and revenue streams
  • Educate and evangelize Social Media best practices within the organization
  • Prioritizing requests based on the business needs.
  • Having a forward thinking attitude and ability to work in an ever-evolving creative space with a willingness to learn new technologies that enhance the cross-channel marketing experience.

    Skills:
  • Experience managing social outlets including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+, Google Communities, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, Pinterest, and more.
  • Keen understanding of the customer, brand, and user experience
  • Strong, professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities on multiple projects while maintaining quality of work.
  • Ability to proactively communicate with the team and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience working successfully in matrixed, cross-functional and multi-cultural teams.
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects without direct authority.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of social media paid advertising campaigns including Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter a plus.
  • Experience in the publishing industry a plus.

You will become an integral part of a cross-functional, agile team of designers, developers, product & business managers working to craft a unique reading, shopping & discovery experience. Besides have great visual taste and the right sensibilities, you should posses the ability to communicate clearly along with a self-motivated ambition to explore new ideas.

    Your role
  • Collaborate with other teams to produce an engaging, innovative, and user-focused product
  • Take ownership on all aspects of a particular task: UI, interactions, prototyping, brand extension & marketing
  • Develop design concepts that promote engagement & delight within a media-centric product

    Requirements
  • A strong design sensibility that's appropriate for media, eCommerce & social products
  • A portfolio that displays a strong understanding of typography, iconography, dynamic layout, UI & user experience
  • 3-5 years of digital product design experience
  • Academic background (BA) in graphic design, human-computer interaction, interaction design, or related field
  • Experience with web and mobile design (iOS and/or Android)
  • Great communications skills. You must be able to clearly communicate the vision of your designs & constructively debate strengths & weaknesses of a feature, iteration or concept
  • Proficiency with a variety of design tools: Adobe Creative Suite &/or Sketch App
